Highlee Mansa was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia as the youngest of 7 children who were all musically talented. He was always involved in writing raps and poetry as a child. Writing was always a form of therapy for him and as he grew older, he began to take writing more seriously allowing him to be where he is today. He started recording music in 2017, but life got in the way of his musical dreams, and he had to put his career on hold until January of 2021 when he made his return to music. He started getting his music out there and got a response form a popular EmCee who liked his music. This gave him confidence and motivation to push through his self-doubt and rise to the top. When making music he gets inspired by many artists, but especially Outkast. He loved the way they did music their own way and always stayed true to themselves which is very important to Highlee Mansa. He also found it important that the music they produced was meaningful and inspiring which he believes is what music should be. When listening to his music, Highlee Mansa wants his fans to really engage in the narrative of the songs and connect with the stories he portrays in every verse. He currently is independent and writes and produces his own music. This hands-on approach he takes is what helps his songs be so powerful. He has a huge year coming up with lots of new music in the works that you will not want to miss.
